Jonathan Ledgard

Board of Directors

Jonathan mobilises scalable advanced technology investments in fast growing economies. He leads the Interspecies Group which seeks to build entirely new interfaces that allow nonhuman life forms to pay for their own protection while rewarding poorer communities for observation and stewardship. Jonathan believes eDNA is the most promising of the verification systems needed to allow trillion dollar financial flows to pay for the protection of diverse life on Earth. While serving as a director at the EPFL Jonathan pioneered the first cargo drone routes and droneports in Africa. He invented blood delivery by drone and introduced it into Rwanda. Previously, he was a foreign and war correspondent for The Economist with expertise in politics, security, technology, and nature. Separately, as J.M. Ledgard, he is an acclaimed novelist. His most recent novel, Submergence, was a New York Times Book of the Year.
